Suboxone/Sublocade and Naltrexone Clinic in Westminster

Individuals who themselves are struggling to overcome an opioid or alcohol addiction or who have a friend or family member struggling with addiction and substance abuse, will likely benefit from Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Methadone had been the popular choice among professional prescriptions for a long time but there are now a wide range of treatment options available to suit the different needs of different people. At Achieve Whole Recovery’s Westminster Suboxone & Vivitrol Clinic, we provide both Buprenorphine and Vivitrol treatments that utilize Suboxone, Sublocade, and Naltrexone medications. Contact us today to see if MAT is right for your needs.

buprenorphine treatment

Buprenorphine products, like Suboxone and Sublocade, have been a highly effective form of medical treatment for those with an addiction to opioids like morphine, prescription painkillers, and morphine, hence why we employ it at our Westminster Suboxone & Vivitrol Clinic. This treatment provides a medically supervised alternative to all the pain and stress withdrawal can cause and is available in an outpatient setting. Our experienced, professional medical staff conducts a comprehensive assessment and works with you so they can determine if buprenorphine treatment is the best course of action for you. (Suboxone is not kept on site. Achieve Whole Recovery works closely with local pharmacies to dispense this medication for our patients).

Buprenorphine can come in the form of a sublingual tablet that you place under your tongue and as an injectable. It acts by attaching onto the same receptors that an opioid would, but in a different way. This then tricks the brain into believing it has received opioids, but with none of the negative side effects that opioids produce. This helps reduce, or even eliminate, withdrawal symptoms and makes it easier to curb addiction.

VIVITROL treatment

Opioid addiction is a chronic and relapsing brain disease affecting people both psychologically and physically. The most effective treatment programs will often focus on both of these aspects of addiction through substance abuse counseling and medication. Vivitrol (naltrexone) is the first and only once-monthly, non-addictive medication which, when paired with some form of therapy or counseling, is proven to help prevent a relapse into opioid dependence after detox. What makes vivitrol even better is the fact that it can also be used to treat alcohol addiction since it’s not an opioid specific medication.

Relapse occurs in 40 to 60 percent of addiction cases according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, with stress, the lack of a positive support system, and falling back into old habits being the three most common contributors to relapse.

Vivitrol is available only as an injectable medication and lasts for a month. Similar to Buprenorphine, Vivitrol attaches to opioid receptors in the brain, but rather than providing a similar sensation to an opioid vivitrol actually prevents opioids from being able to attach themselves to the receptors.

When opioids and alcohol release endorphins, they attach to our brain’s receptors, decreasing pain by flooding the system with a sense of euphoria and making them highly addictive. The choice to turn away from this synthetic euphoria is challenging, but MAT at our addiction recovery treatment center in Westminster is a powerful outpatient option for those worried about withdrawal and/or relapse.

Achieve Whole Recovery offers Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid and Alcohol Dependence (primarily using buprenorphine products such as Suboxone and Sublocade; naltrexone products such as Vivitrol; and other medication assisted treatments).
